Asana Automation Consultant (Contract) - MUST reside in Egypt
Position Summary
We are seeking a contract-based Asana Automation Consultant to design, implement, and optimize workflow automation within Asana and related business systems. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency, reducing manual administrative effort, enhancing visibility across projects, and supporting scalable execution processes across consulting, operations, and business functions.
The ideal candidate combines strong process-thinking capabilities with hands-on experience configuring Asana workflows, rules, forms, integrations, reporting, and automation across platforms such as Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Zapier, Make, Slack, Teams, and related tools.
Key Responsibilities
Asana System Architecture & Administration
Configure and maintain Asana workspaces, teams, projects, portfolios, templates, and custom fields
Develop scalable project and task structures aligned with organizational workflows
Standardize project management processes and governance within Asana
Optimize permissions, access structures, naming conventions, and organizational standards
Workflow Automation
Design and implement automation rules within Asana
Build cross-platform automations using:
Microsoft Power Automate
Zapier
Make (Integromat)
Slack / Microsoft Teams
Outlook / Gmail integrations
Automate task routing, approvals, reminders, escalations, recurring workflows, and status updates
Reduce manual work by integrating business systems and workflows
Process Improvement
Analyze existing operational workflows and identify automation opportunities
Translate business requirements into efficient workflow designs
Improve execution tracking, accountability, and visibility across teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives through workflow optimization
Reporting & Dashboards
Build dashboards and reporting structures within Asana
Develop KPI tracking and operational reporting mechanisms
Improve visibility into project status, workload, deadlines, and execution metrics
Support executive reporting requirements
Integration & Data Management
Support integrations between Asana and external systems
Assist with importing/exporting data and workflow migration efforts
Ensure data consistency and organizational standards across projects
Help establish scalable information management practices
Documentation & Training
Develop workflow documentation, SOPs, and user guides
Train team members on Asana usage and workflow standards
Support onboarding and adoption efforts
Provide troubleshooting and ongoing user support
Required Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience administering and automating Asana
Experience with workflow automation platforms such as:
Power Automate
Zapier
Make
Strong understanding of operational workflows and process design
Experience configuring:
Custom fields
Forms
Rules
Portfolios
Dashboards
Templates
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business needs into practical system workflows
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting consulting, professional services, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or operations teams
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem
Experience integrating Asana with CRM, ERP, document management, or communication systems
Knowledge of project management methodologies and operational governance
Experience with AI-enabled workflow tools and automation concepts
