ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is one of Australia's leading tile retailers, supplying premium floor and wall tiles for residential and commercial projects. As they expand their B2B pipeline and trade relationships, they are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to drive new revenue and build lasting partnerships.
ROLE OVERVIEW
In this role, you'll be the engine behind our client's outbound sales growth. From cold calling and LinkedIn outreach to email and SMS campaigns, you'll be proactively identifying and converting new business opportunities. This is a results-driven role suited to someone who thrives on building relationships and closing deals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cold Calling & Outbound Sales
Conduct high-volume outbound cold calls to prospective trade clients including builders, architects, interior designers, and property developers
Qualify leads efficiently and move prospects through the sales pipeline
Maintain call logs and outcomes in the CRM with accurate, up-to-date records
Meet and exceed weekly and monthly call and conversion targets
Lead Nurturing
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects through consistent, value-driven follow-up
Develop personalised outreach cadences tailored to different buyer segments and deal stages
Re-engage dormant leads and lapsed clients to revive sales opportunities
Collaborate with the marketing team to align nurture sequences with broader campaigns
SMS & Email Marketing
Execute targeted SMS and email outreach campaigns to prospective and existing clients
Write compelling, concise copy that drives engagement and action
Track campaign performance and continuously refine messaging and timing for better results
Ensure all outreach complies with Australian anti-spam (SPAM Act) and privacy regulations
LinkedIn Outreach — Sales Navigator & Waalaxy
Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify, research, and target high-value prospects in the construction, design, and property sectors
Run automated and semi-automated outreach sequences using Waalaxy to scale connection requests, messages, and follow-ups
Craft personalised LinkedIn messaging that resonates with target personas and opens meaningful sales conversations
Monitor campaign performance within Waalaxy and iterate on sequences for improved response rates
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
4+ years of experience in business development, outbound sales, or a similar role
Confident and professional communicator — comfortable on the phone and in writing
Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ideally Waalaxy or similar outreach tools
Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining pipeline hygiene
Experience with SMS and email outreach platforms
Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient — you don't give up at the first no
Experience in building materials, construction, design, or retail is highly regarded but not essential
