What You’ll Work On
You’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of challenging transportation projects, including roadway and site‑civil design, highway and bridge reconstruction, traffic engineering analysis, and transportation planning studies.
Current project highlights include:
I‑80 Reconstruction (Jefferson County, PA) – Six miles of rural interstate reconstruction featuring mainline widening, interchange ramp improvements, and bridge replacements.
I‑70 Reconstruction (Washington County, PA) – A model‑based delivery corridor project including
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll help bring sophisticated engineering solutions to life while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
• Developing design criteria, alignments, superelevations, guiderail layouts, and modeling roadway corridors.
• Identifying and resolving utility conflicts through coordination with internal teams, clients, and utility owners.
• Preparing construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Applying 3D CADD modeling techniques to support innovative digital delivery.
• Creating technical reports, exhibits, tables, and graphics that clearly communicate design intent.
• Supporting AECOM’s quality processes and contributing to interdisciplinary reviews.
• Helping shape project staffing strategies to meet scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
• Preparing presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Working collaboratively with project managers and discipline leads to deliver successful outcomes.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited) or related engineering field.
• 2 years of relevant experience on U.S. highway/transportation projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) Certification
• Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar transportation design software.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience working on PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects.
• Expereince in roadway, or site‑civil engineering design
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Previous experience mentoring junior staff.
• PE License
