Our client is a CPA firm specializing in government agencies and has an audit project so they will require a skilled auditor to support for 2 days, June 23 & June 29. Government industry knowledge is required. This role is 100% remote and is estimated at 16 hours over 2 days but may lead to additional opportunities to support this team as they ramp up their busy season.
The ideal candidate can be a CPA (active or inactive) preferred, have audit experience with a regional or big 4 auditing firm, and be comfortable with the project for 2 days. This is an excellent opportunity for a career consultant.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive audits of financial statements, records, and operations of government agencies.
• Evaluate internal controls and assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Identify and report on discrepancies, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with government officials to communicate audit results and facilitate corrective actions.
• Stay current with changes in government regulations and accounting standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of audit plans and procedures.
Qualifications:
• CPA certification preferred (active or inactive).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of auditing experience, preferably in a government setting.
• Strong knowledge of government accounting principles and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
• Knowledge of performance auditing and risk assessment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with government officials and stakeholders.
• Regional or Big 4 auditing experience preferred.
