Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote. If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.  If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Strong knowledge of dental and vision products, operations, and the regulatory environment for Dental and Vision products   Excellent presentation, oral, and written communications skills   Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the ability to collaborate to reach a common agreement   Education & Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or a related field Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation 10 years of professional job-related work experience, 5 years management experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience   Education & Experience Preferred Insurance industry designations Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries   Travel Less than or equal to 10%   Principal Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the creation and analysis of sales, expense, persistency and morbidity experience for dental and vision product lines   Maintains and communicates sales, morbidity, and persistency experience and provides management reports for product lines   Works with the product team to ensure future product design, benefits, and features are appropriately communicated and priced   Develops and implements pricing models for use by underwriting; maintains infrastructure for and updates experience analysis   Produces annual state filings as necessary   Performs Network Monitoring services such as updating network information and network fee negotiations   Updates Actuarial/Underwriting models with new yearly information (trend)   Works with product team to develop market competitive dental and vision plans on an as needed basis. Constructs and/or maintains pricing models.   Works with pricing and financial planning & analysis teams to develop dental VNB and financial forecasting models and provides annual experience updates for those models   Supports regulatory filing efforts and actuarial memorandums when new products are being developed and filed   Serves as the resource for questions for underwriting   Works with underwriting and pricing to set underwriting parameters and authority as well as when actuarial needs to be consulted (i.e. large case)   Collaborates with financial, sales, actuarial, and underwriting to determine strategic rating strategies for both dental and vision product lines   Performs re-rating analysis and implementation to ensure compliance and profitability. Works with operations or TPA, as needed, to ensure rate increases are properly implemented.   Over 100 – Done through Actuarial/Underwriting models and working with underwriting department to implement optimal rules   Under 100 – Performs the community rated analysis and implementation as needed.   Collaborates, as needed, with the Actuarial leadership, the Risk Management team, Financial Services, and Compliance   Monitors industry trends, regulatory developments and actuarial best practices; provides guidance and subject-matter expertise to executive management   Can work remotely with travel to offices in Columbus, Columbia and Tampa   Performs other duties as required   Total Rewards The salary range for this job is $180,000 - $230,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.   At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
