Sonnenburg Consulting is a boutique finance and accounting consulting firm. We are seeking a dynamic Due Diligence Analyst / FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Analyst to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your financial expertise, analytical skills, and compliance knowledge to support strategic decision-making and ensure rigorous financial integrity. You will play a vital role in conducting comprehensive due diligence, financial analysis, and supporting corporate finance initiatives to drive our continued growth and success. Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential business partners, acquisitions, and investment opportunities, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform detailed financial statement preparation, analysis, and interpretation to assess financial health and identify risks or opportunities.
• Support mergers & acquisitions processes through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and integration planning.
• Analyze financial transactions for anomalies.
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial reports, including cash flow analysis, cost accounting reports, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Utilize financial software tools for data analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.
• Proven experience in due diligence, M&A or FP&A.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, report writing, cash management, and corporate finance.
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with tax experience and tax accounting practices is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel skills for data modeling and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are a plus.
