Remote (U.S.-based)
Duration: 12+ month contract
Long-term engagement with extension potential
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medicaid Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Subject Matter Expert to support federal and state Medicaid reporting programs. This is a senior, backend data role focused on ownership of Medicaid data, data quality, and federal reporting accuracy — not a BI or reporting‑only position.
This role requires deep Medicaid data knowledge, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience supporting federally mandated reporting in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the data SME for Medicaid EDW data supporting federal and state reporting
• Own data feeds, data quality, and reconciliation processes for Medicaid program reporting
• Support federal submissions including (but not limited to) T‑MSIS, CMS‑64, CMS‑21, PERM, MARS, and ad‑hoc regulatory requests
• Write, review, and debug complex SQL used for data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution
• Investigate data discrepancies and partner with ETL, source system, and analytics teams to resolve root causes
• Support weekly and ad-hoc stakeholder reporting with a strong focus on data accuracy and traceability
• Document data logic, assumptions, and reporting rules to support audits and compliance reviews
• Act as a bridge between technical teams and business/program stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of experience working with Medicaid data in an enterprise data warehouse environment
• Hands-on experience supporting federal Medicaid reporting (T‑MSIS, CMS‑64, CMS‑21, PERM, MARS, etc.)
• Advanced SQL skills — ability to independently write, troubleshoot, and validate complex queries
• Strong understanding of Medicaid claims, encounters, eligibility, and provider data
• Experience with data quality, reconciliation, and audit support
• Comfortable working in highly regulated, compliance-driven environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain data issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
• Experience working with state Medicaid programs or Medicaid managed care data
• Exposure to ETL processes and data pipelines (not hands-on ETL development, but strong downstream understanding)
• Experience working within large enterprise data platforms (Teradata, SQL Server, cloud DWs, etc.)
Onboarding Requirements
• Background check
• Drug Screen
