Energy Auditor, 1099

Job Description: • Conduct on-site energy audits for residential and commercial properties. • Perform blower door tests, duct leakage tests, and infrared thermography to assess building envelope efficiency. • Evaluate HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, appliances, and windows for energy performance. • Identify areas for energy savings, efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy integration. • Provide detailed reports with recommendations for energy improvements and cost savings. • Educate homeowners, builders, and business owners on energy efficiency best practices. • Ensure compliance with local energy codes, RESNET, HERS, and other efficiency standards. • Use GreenWorks' reporting software to document audit findings and recommendations. Requirements: • Certification(s) preferred: RESNET HERS Rater, BPI Building Analyst, LEED Green Associate, or similar. • Experience conducting energy audits, home performance assessments, or sustainability consulting. • Knowledge of building science, HVAC systems, insulation, and air sealing techniques. • Strong understanding of Texas energy codes and efficiency rebate programs. • Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling. • Excellent communication and report-writing skills. • Reliable transportation for travel to job sites within the assigned region. • Must have liability insurance as an independent contractor. • Ability to pass a background check (if required by clients).
