**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at our maximum security, all-male forensic mental health facility in Chattahoochee, FL. As an LPN at careerzynith, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
**Responsibilities**
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at careerzynith, your key responsibilities will include:
* Assessing resident complaints and determining action, notifying supervisor when necessary
* Admitting and transferring residents to and from other units or outside sources
* Administering oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within your scope of practice as defined by Florida law
* Observing for side effects or adverse effects to medication and reporting to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment
* Preparing paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments
* Coordinating residents' appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as needed for resident movement to and from the unit
* Providing emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law, and notifying supervisor for further assistance
* Completing incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
* Completing progress notes on resident care within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
* Advocating for residents' recovery and safety
* Maintaining appropriate and professional behavior during interactions with residents', supervisors, and other staff members
* Displaying professionalism throughout employment, including arriving to work on time, maintaining an accurate timesheet, and maintaining professional appearance as defined by facility policy
**Requirements**
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must:
* Be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
* Hold unencumbered licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
* Have one year of nursing experience, strongly preferred
* Be CPR certified, or able to complete training
* Be able to complete full orientation at time of hire
* Be able to fulfill physical requirements of position, including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion
