The Financial Analyst, FP&A role offers an entry point into a high-performing finance team, focusing on month-end reporting, financial reconciliations, and business analysis while collaborating with experienced finance leaders.
Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process by validating the accuracy and completeness of financial reports
- Identify and flag discrepancies in month-end outputs, working with relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assist the FP&A Manager in running basic month-end analysis, including variance commentary and trend identification
- Prepare and distribute standard monthly reporting packages to internal stakeholders
- Perform reconciliations across multiple financial systems to ensure data consistency and accuracy
- Run revenue reconciliations between source systems, identifying root causes of variances and escalating where required
- Maintain reconciliation logs and documentation to support audit readiness and process transparency
- Proactively flag data quality issues and work cross-functionally to drive resolution
- Partner with IT and Operations teams to manage day-to-day financial data activities and support system-related queries
- Act as a liaison between Finance and operational teams to ensure financial data flows accurately across systems
- Support ad hoc data and reporting requests from the FP&A team and business partners as needed
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to broaden your understanding of the FP&A function
- Contribute to the documentation of processes and SOPs to support knowledge sharing across the team
- Stay curious — actively explore tools and technologies, including AI, that can improve the efficiency and quality of finance deliverables
Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or analytical role (FP&A, corporate finance, or public accounting background is an asset)
- Solid Excel skills — comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and working with large datasets
- Experience with or exposure to ERP systems and BI/reporting tools is an asset
- Familiarity with reconciliation processes and financial close cycles
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity
- Basic understanding of financial statements and P&L reporting
- An open and curious mindset toward learning new tools, systems, and processes — including AI-enabled finance workflows
- Detail-oriented and accurate — you catch discrepancies before anyone else does
- A self-starter who takes ownership of tasks and follows through without being chased
- Comfortable working with data across multiple systems and tools
