Founding US Partner - Startup GTM & Technical Client Acquisition (Global Dev Team)

Founding US Partner — Startup GTM & Technical Client Acquisition (Global Dev Team) Part-Time | 50/50 partnership income split | Remote | Travel up to ~20% Our client is a global software development team of 8 engineers and specialists delivering work for clients in North America and internationally. They are looking for a US-based founding partner who combines startup-style GTM with technical client acquisition: the local, credible face of a transparent collaboration—responsive, organized, and aligned with how the team engages buyers and delivers work. Why this role Many US buyers and platforms prefer US-based professionals, shared time zones, and clear local communication during sales, scoping, and delivery. The core team works Asia-Pacific hours; a trusted Americas-based partner helps bridge timezone and trust while clients understand who delivers the work and how the partnership is structured. This is a partnership in global development—not a traditional full-time hire. You bring relationships, GTM judgment, and technical fluency in client conversations; the team brings capacity, engineering depth, and end-to-end delivery on active engagements. What you’ll do • Meet and engage US prospects and clients: intros, discovery, technical discussions, and ongoing relationship updates. • Act as the primary US-facing contact for calls, demos when needed, and status meetings in US business hours, coordinated with the global team. • Drive and support startup-style GTM motion: pipeline thinking, follow-up, and clear next steps with prospects and partners. • Align requirements between clients and delivery: scope, milestones, demos, acceptance, and risk escalation. • Gather and summarize client feedback so priorities stay clear for delivery. • Coordinate scheduling across time zones (including Asia-Pacific); support proposals and SOW discussions with accurate, honest representation of roles and delivery. • Optional: hands-on development depending on your skills and agreement. • Travel: up to ~20% for local or regional client meetings as agreed. Time commitment Part-time overall, with active communication when opportunities and projects are live: fast replies, reliable attendance on scheduled calls, and clear handoffs—within windows you agree together with the team. Compensation & structure • 50% / 50% split of partnership income from engagements under this collaboration (terms defined in writing: what counts as income, platform or processing fees, payment timing, invoicing, and responsibilities). • The team can run multiple concurrent projects; specifics discussed privately (not a guaranteed income level). • Contracting, invoicing, and tax handling aligned with applicable rules and your situation. What we’re looking for • Based in the United States with ability to work or contract as required for this arrangement. • US citizenship or US Green Card holder. • Startup experience: building, operating, or selling in early-stage / high-uncertainty environments (founding, operating, consulting, or technical GTM). • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; orientation toward backend engineering or similar technical depth. • Strong English; comfort with B2B, consulting-style, and technical conversations. • Interpersonal strength: first meetings, follow-ups, and ongoing trust with buyers and stakeholders. • Organized, responsive, discreet with client and commercial information. Nice to have • Japanese language proficiency (optional; valuable for Japan- or APAC-related conversations). • Experience with international or distributed teams, APAC context, or cross-border sales or delivery. • Developer / solutions background beyond acquisition (e.g., light architecture or integration discussions).
