Global Welfare & Compliance Auditor

Job Description Summary: Aviagen® stands at the forefront of poultry genetics, pioneering research, and innovation on a global scale. We seek a Global Welfare & Compliance Auditor to establish, audit, and report on global operational standards and procedures with the aim of proactively improving the quality and efficiency of global operations. Job Description: • To plan and undertake unannounced welfare audits as agreed with Global Vice President Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance. • To benchmark and provide ongoing training for internal welfare auditors in the business units. • Participate in company-wide forums to exchange information about operational issues and operations. • Gather, summarize and report data and information about welfare improvements across the company. • Familiarise with welfare, sustainability and audit developments and opportunities globally. • Develop and maintain an understanding of the Welfare Laws & Requirements in the countries we operate, becoming the key resource in these areas. • In cooperation with Global Vice President Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance, further develop welfare and sustainability improvements across Aviagen Group • Where appropriate and in consultation with Global Vice President Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance, represent Aviagen Group at representation and business meetings. • Undertake other functions as self-determined on a day-to-day basis or as determined by the Global Vice President Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance. Specific Experience: • At least 5 years’ experience within the poultry industry, ideally in both hatchery and farming operations. • A good understanding of international welfare laws and requirements. Personal Qualities: • Good analytical and problem-solving skills in order to be able to identify factors affecting operational quality and performance • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in order to influence colleagues regarding best practice • Good organisational skills to plan and structure complex operational processes. • Commitment to quality and customer service • Willingness to undertake international travel Qualifications: • Science based degree or professional track record, showing pro-active and analytical approach. • Formal training in quality and auditing systems • PAACO certification • Excellent IT skills
