About the role
• The Head of Social Media is a senior-level position that would involve overseeing the The Block's social media strategy and presence across platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, and others.
• The role would report to the Publisher and entail leading a team to enhance brand visibility, audience engagement, and traffic to editorial, research, and other content.
What you'll do
• Developing and executing a comprehensive, platform-specific social media strategy aligned with The Block's overall business objectives.
• Leading a team of social media specialists to create, curate, and manage engaging content, such as text posts, graphics, videos, and reels, while ensuring consistent quality and brand messaging.
• Monitoring audience interactions, responding to comments, and fostering community engagement to build loyalty among readers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts.
• Planning and implementing social media campaigns, including budget management, ad creation, and optimization, to amplify reach and drive targeted traffic to The Block's website.
• Collaborating with editorial, multimedia, and sales teams to integrate social media efforts with content production, partnered content, and reputation management.
• Analyzing performance data to refine strategies, identify trends in the cryptocurrency space, and mitigate risks such as reputational issues associated with misguided social content.
• Staying abreast of platform algorithms, emerging trends, and best practices in social media for news and media organizations, particularly in fast-paced sectors.
