ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Create a positive, supportive classroom culture that promotes joy, self-discipline and Explores Core ValuesPlan and implement creative, organized, and engaging lessons based on Tennessee State StandardsDesign and implement cross-curricular, project-based learning units of studyDifferentiate instruction to support all students in the learning processWork in partnership with an associate teacher and volunteers, providing coaching and direction to enhance student learningMaintain close relationships with families, including phone calls, conferences, and home visitsSupport and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure school-wide successAnalyze assessment data and use it to inform your instructionProvide a loving, exciting, joyful learning environment QUALIFICATIONS Experience in teaching upper elementary/ lower middle school students, preferably consistently incorporating Project-Based LearningDemonstrated strong classroom and time management skillsProven ability to work as a member of a team with a commitment to his/her own learning and professional developmentExperience designing and implementing readers and writers workshop within a balanced literacy curriculumCapacity to teach mathematics and science using inquiry-based and hands-on methodologyBachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.
