Legal Assistants are responsible for maintaining, in tandem with the associate attorney, the teams docket, calendaring, and client/opposing counsel contacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in settlement negotiations
Collect all necessary documents for each client
Develop and maintain relationships with each client
Develop relationships with opposing counsel and support staff
Ensure the execution of settlement agreements
Draft various types of letters to both clients and opposing counsel
Recognize, notate, and prepare for important deadlines
Address post settlement issues as they arise
Perform other duties as required and assigned
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required
Previous experience in a law firm setting is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Superior analytic skills
Ability to change tasks quickly
Computer Proficiency
Must pass credit and criminal background check
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
There is some flexibility when selecting a start time, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of the selected schedule and is expected to work a 40 hour week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
