Under direct supervision of faculty members, the lab assistant performs routine standardized laboratory work requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies, assisting faculty in supervision of students assigned to laboratories, and other related duties and is employed on an individual academic term basis. Duties include but are not limited to, assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction; tutor or mentor students; perform laboratory research; clean labs as needed; and obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials. Chosen candidate must be able to work mornings/afternoons, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of the course(s) which are appropriate to the assignment as an assistant and Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Welding Technology

-Directly related experience in the field.

Part Time

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17-$21. This is a part-time position working up to --- hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted.
