About the position
Wake Robin is seeking a Nurse Educator to lead and oversee the professional development and clinical education of Health & Resident Services staff in the Linden Health Center. This role champions a culture of excellence, safety, and compassionate care, and plays a key part in building the knowledge, skills, and confidence of our clinical team. The Nurse Educator collaborates closely with managers and staff to implement evidence-based best practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and support a high-performing, engaged workforce. This position also provides oversight of the Onboarding & Training Coordinator, guiding the orientation process and ensuring ongoing education aligns with Wake Robin’s standards of care.
Responsibilities
• Plan, implement, and evaluate education programs for Health & Resident Services staff, including orientation, ongoing competency assessments, and continuing education.
• Provide education and oversight in key clinical areas, including: Narcotic management and medication safety, Falls prevention protocols, Skin and wound management, Electronic Health Record utilization, Clinical policies and procedures.
• Develop, maintain, and update orientation schedules, competency checklists, and education materials to ensure staff readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Act as a liaison with LNA course providers and maintain communication with leadership.
• Support medication administration training for Residential Care Assistants.
• Provide clinical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to staff across Health & Resident Services.
• Oversee the daily work of the Onboarding & Training Coordinator to ensure a consistent, well-organized orientation experience and accurate tracking of training and certifications.
• Build strong relationships with staff and providers to foster collaboration and excellence in care delivery.
• Conduct regular clinical observations to assess practice, provide coaching, and identify opportunities for additional training or education.
• Ensure all staff meet training, certification, and competency requirements in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support quality initiatives and performance improvement projects to enhance resident outcomes and staff engagement.
Requirements
• Registered Nurse (RN) with current license in Vermont.
• Experience in long-term care, clinical education, or a related healthcare setting strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, educate, and inspire clinical staff in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; collaborative, approachable and professional demeanor.
