About the Role
We are seeking experienced and compassionate California-licensed Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our On-Call Telemedicine Team.
This position is ideal for providers who value flexibility, collaboration, and the opportunity to provide meaningful care from the comfort of their home.
As an On-Call Provider, you will collaborate closely with our back-office Medical Assistant (MA) team to:
• Manage patient concerns
• Review clinical endorsements
• Facilitate telemedicine visits when necessary
You will serve as the medical decision-maker, ensuring timely, safe, and appropriate care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered virtual care via our telehealth platform
• Review and assess medical endorsements submitted by the on-call MA team
• Manage common primary and urgent care conditions remotely
• Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Order urgent labs or imaging when medically necessary
• Review, complete, and sign clinical documentation prepared by the MA team in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and facility staff to ensure understanding and adherence
• Collaborate with bedside providers and supervising physicians to maintain continuity of care
About the On-Call Team
Our On-Call Team includes 50–60 Medical Assistants who manage after-hours communications and coordination. They:
• Relay patient and facility concerns
• Assist with documentation, form completion, refills, and coordination of urgent labs or imaging
• Collaborate with bedside providers and scribes through the EHR
The On-Call Provider focuses on clinical oversight and decision-making, supported by a structured and collaborative team.
Requirements
• Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license
• DEA license (preferred; may be required for prescribing)
• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Telemedicine, urgent care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing preferred
• Proficiency with EMR systems and telehealth platforms
• Reliable high-speed internet and HIPAA-compliant home work environment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in inpatient medicine, skilled nursing, family medicine, geriatric medicine, or urgent care
• Administrative or leadership experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence discussing care plans and gaining buy-in from patients, families, and facility staff
