About the position
National University is seeking part-time faculty in English with a specialization in rhetoric/composition or other related writing fields for its Department of Arts and Humanities. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to serving a diverse adult student body, and engagement in related scholarship and/or research. This role involves collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.
Responsibilities
• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Requirements
• MA degree in the field of English, rhetoric/composition, English literature, creative writing, or library science from a regionally accredited university required.
