Position Summary
The Lead Solutions Architect – PHP Enterprise Systems is responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, and support of mission-critical enterprise applications. This role drives the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance PHP-based solutions while ensuring alignment with business objectives, compliance standards, and operational requirements. The position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders to modernize legacy systems, optimize application performance, and support high-availability environments. The Lead Solutions Architect also provides technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, promotes best practices and Test-Driven Development, and evaluates emerging technologies to enhance enterprise system capabilities.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions using PHP and related technologies.
• Oversee application lifecycle management, including P1/P2 support, performance optimization, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, infrastructure, business units) to align technology with business goals.
• Mentor development teams and enforce best practices, coding standards, and Test-Driven Development using PHPUnit.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities.
• Proven experience in FSI application development, including data security and high-availability systems.
• Strong experience with MySQL, Oracle, AS400, and branching strategies such as GitFlow, trunk-based development, or feature branching.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture and PHP development.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, system integration, and legacy modernization.
• Hands-on experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical enterprise systems.
• Experience with application performance optimization and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and application lifecycle management.
• Expertise in database technologies including MySQL, Oracle, and AS400.
• Experience implementing Test-Driven Development using PHPUnit.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills working across technical and business teams.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
