Position Overview
The Public Relations Manager (Contractor) role is designed for an experienced, self-directed PR professional with a proven track record of securing high-quality earned media coverage and leading strategic media relations campaigns for executive-level clients.
This role is responsible for managing and executing multiple public relations campaigns simultaneously on behalf of Advantage’s authors, executives, and thought leadership clients. The ideal candidate brings strong media relationships, exceptional written communication skills, strategic thinking abilities, and the ability to independently drive measurable media outcomes.
The Public Relations Manager will develop and execute proactive media outreach strategies across print, digital, broadcast, podcast, and online media channels. Responsibilities include identifying media opportunities, building and maintaining journalist relationships, crafting compelling pitches and messaging, coordinating interviews and media appearances, and leveraging tools such as Muck Rack for media research, outreach, monitoring, and relationship management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, polished, highly organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong candidates are resourceful, adaptable, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with excellent judgment and strong storytelling instincts.
