Motorsport Games is a racing game developer, publisher and esports ecosystem provider of official motorsport racing series, including the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race and the associated FIA World Endurance Championship (the “WEC”) which we represent in our recent release Le Mans Ultimate on PC.
Our portfolio also includes Studio 397’s previous title rFactor 2 - a realistic racing simulator technology and platform. rFactor 2 also powers F1® Arcade through a partnership with Kindred Concepts. Our products and services target a large global motorsport and video games audience.
We are also striving to become a leader in organising and facilitating esports tournaments, competitions, and events for our licensed racing games. We create and own the technology for RaceControl, a unique system that powers skill-based matchmaking, statistics and server management (amongst other) behind our titles, whilst also offering an optional subscription.
Job Summary
As we expand our official competitions, fair and consistent stewarding is fundamental to player trust. The RaceControl Steward sits at the centre of that process, reviewing protests, issuing decisions, and acting as the day-to-day point of contact for our community-led stewarding network. This role reports to the Head of Marketing Operations and Events. This role is remote but only open to applicants based within the UK, Germany or the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
Review protests submitted by players and flagged by the LiveSteward software, and issue clear, unbiased and consistent decisions in line with the competition rules
Be responsible the outcome of every steward decision
Provide structured feedback to the LiveSteward team to refine and improve the tool
Help refine the wider backend stewarding process and decision workflow
Recruit, onboard and train a roster of community stewards, and act as their day-to-day point of contact
Create, maintain and uphold the Competition Rules across all official competitions
Report stewarding metrics to studio leadership
Flexible working hours and days around the race calendar when live event coverage is needed
Essential Skills & Experience
Active member of the sim racing community or esports scene, with strong understanding of online racing culture and how protests are perceived by players
Demonstrated experience handling player disputes, customer escalations or community moderation
Excellent written communication, able to issue concise, defensible steward decisions that hold up under public scrutiny
Sound judgement under pressure with a calm, impartial approach when calls are contested
Highly organised, comfortable managing rule documents, version history and decision logs
Flexibility in working hours and days - including weekends and evenings around the race calendar
Comfortable as a point of contact for an external community team including recruitment, training and conflict resolution
Based within a UK or European time zone
Motorsport, racing games and/or racing esport enthusiast
Desirable Skills & Experience
Prior experience as a steward, marshal or rules official in real-world or sim motorsport would be preferred but not essential
Familiarity with sporting regulations or equivalent competition rule frameworks
Basic data literacy, able to track and report on protest volume, turnaround and overturn rates
Personal Qualities
Impartial and consistent under pressure
Clear, confident communicator, written decisions must be defensible publicly
Collaborative team player able to work with both internal stakeholders and an external community
Proactive and self-managed, particularly when working flexible/unsocial hours
Qualifications Required
