Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Loads)

About the position Pantheon Data is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Loads) to support U.S. Coast Guard ship acquisition and sustainment programs. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing and supporting shipboard power systems, with expertise in electric propulsion, power generation, distribution systems, or machinery control. Responsibilities • Serve as the subject matter expert on shipboard electrical power systems and power load analysis. • Evaluate and support the design, integration, and performance of electrical systems including: Electric propulsion systems, Power generation and distribution networks, Machinery control systems. • Conduct system-level power load calculations to ensure equipment compatibility and operational efficiency. • Participate in design reviews and technical evaluations of third-party engineering deliverables. • Support shipboard testing, troubleshooting, and verification of electrical systems. • Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and program teams to ensure systems meet mission requirements and regulatory standards. • Review technical data packages, specifications, and drawings for conformance with USCG standards. • Develop technical reports, analysis, and recommendations for system improvements and lifecycle planning. Requirements • Minimum 6 years of documented experience in at least one of the following: Electric propulsion, Machinery control systems, Power generation systems, Power distribution systems. • Strong working knowledge of shipboard power system design, implementation, and sustainment. • Experience supporting maritime, naval, or defense-related engineering programs. • Proficiency in electrical load analysis, failure analysis, and risk assessment. • Ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams, technical specifications, and control system schematics. • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams. • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work. • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Nice-to-haves • Prior experience supporting the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, or DoD programs. • Familiarity with MIL-STDs, ABS, IEEE, or other maritime standards. • Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and simulation software.
