Job Description:
• Advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll related issues
• Processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel
• Assists new employees with completing the appropriate new hire, payroll and benefit forms
• May provide general orientation for new employees
• Responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas
• Assists supervisors with the hiring process including job requisitions, PHS entry and appointment screening
• May maintain sick and vacation leave records for staff personnel
• Prepares cost-transfers and journals adjusting when necessary
• Maintains personnel and payroll related files for department
• May assist supervisors with documentation needed for employee evaluation process
• May assist in annual budget process
• Ensures accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports
• Administers academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan
Requirements:
• Education: Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education
• Work Experience: Relevant Experience (3 Years)
• Skills: Accounting, Accounting System, Business, Computer Literacy, Contracts, Grants Management, Highly Developed Interpersonal, Human Resources (HR) Software Systems, Lotus Applications, Microsoft Word, Operating Office Equipment, Organizing
