What this position entails We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Data team and help launch our Data Curation Pipeline team. This team will be responsible for modernizing a series of healthcare data pipelines that transform raw claims, prescription, and electronic health record (EHR) data into standardized, enterprise-ready datasets that power downstream products, analytics, and client solutions. This is a highly strategic and execution-oriented role for a product leader with deep healthcare data experience and a strong track record of working across engineering, data, operations, and business stakeholders. You will define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for a foundational data product capability that supports scalable product development across the organization. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of product management, data platform strategy, stakeholder engagement, and delivery execution. You will partner closely with engineering, architecture, analytics, and business teams to define requirements, prioritize work, manage backlogs, and ensure the team is delivering high-value, high-quality data assets. You will also help establish operating processes, quality standards, and product practices for a new and evolving team. What you will be doing Product Strategy & Roadmap  Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Curation Pipeline team  Lead the modernization of healthcare data pipelines that ingest and transform raw claims, prescription, and EHR data into standardized enterprise datasets  Identify opportunities to improve data quality, scalability, usability, speed, and downstream product readiness  Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into product priorities and roadmap decisions  Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform and data product strategy  Product Development & Requirements  Own and manage the team backlog, ensuring clear prioritization of high-impact initiatives, technical enablers, defects, and enhancements  Translate business, operational, technical, and data requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, and process flows  Serve as the primary product point of contact for engineering, architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders  Resolve requirement conflicts, clarify priorities, and support the team in delivering high-quality outcomes  Define acceptance criteria and participate in user acceptance testing and release validation  Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, usability, and business value expectations  Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution  Work closely with software developers, data engineers, architects, QA, analytics teams, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle  Lead Agile product processes including backlog refinement, sprint planning input, prioritization, and stakeholder communication  Coordinate across teams to manage dependencies, risks, milestones, and delivery timelines  Establish and refine operating models, team processes, and best practices for a new data product function  Communicate roadmap progress, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders and leadership  Stakeholder Engagement  Build strong relationships with internal business stakeholders, product teams, and data consumers across the organization  Gather and synthesize feedback from users, internal clients, and go-to-market teams to inform future capabilities and priorities  Communicate complex technical and data concepts in ways that are accessible to technical, business, and leadership teams  Support strategic discussions around data capabilities, product readiness, and market needs   Help ensure the curated datasets support internal and external use cases across analytics, product development, and client solutions   What we need 10+ years of progressive product management experience, including significant experience in data products, platform products, or healthcare technology  Deep experience working with healthcare data, including claims, prescription data, and/or electronic health records  Demonstrated success defining strategy and delivering products in complex, data-intensive environments  Strong experience translating ambiguous business and technical needs into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs  Experience working closely with Agile software development and/or data engineering teams  Proficiency with Jira or other product and Agile project management tools  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making  Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy   What you bring to the table Proven ability to lead product strategy and execution for complex data platforms or data transformation workflows  Strong understanding of healthcare data structures, normalization, curation, and downstream product use cases  Experience modernizing legacy workflows, systems, or pipelines into scalable productized capabilities  Ability to break down complex workflows and datasets into actionable requirements for engineering and data teams  Strong prioritization and decision-making skills, including balancing stakeholder requests, technical constraints, and business value  Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority  Experience working in a matrix organization, including managing dependencies across multiple teams, domains, and microservices  Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish credibility across technical, operational, and executive audiences  Strong attention to quality and experience defining acceptance criteria and validating delivered work  Entrepreneurial mindset with a constructive, “can-do” approach to solving problems and building new capabilities  Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while helping shape a growing team  Adaptable and willing to pitch in wherever needed   Wish list Advanced degree, diploma, or certification in a related field (e.g., Product Management, Business Analysis, Healthcare Informatics)  Experience working with clinical data, such as medical claims, electronic health records (EHR), or other healthcare datasets  Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and experience working in a HIPAA-compliant environment  Background in healthcare, life sciences, legal services, insurance, or other data-intensive or regulated industries  Experience presenting to senior leadership and/or facilitating stakeholder workshops  Proficiency with product management or analytics tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Tableau, SQL)  Exposure to agile, lean, or other modern product development methodologies  Location The expected application deadline for this job is September 30, 2026. This position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI as needed and travel nationwide for meetings, conferences, and team events. Compensation The overall salary range for this role is $131,600 - $279,680. For candidates residing in: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia: $151,340 - $249,780 if overall experience is less than 15 years; and $169,510 - $279,680 for experience greater than 15 years. All other states: $131,600 - $217,200 if overall experience is less than 15 years; and $147,400 - $243,200 for experience greater than 15 years.
