Description/Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is hiring a Senior Project Manager with extensive real property, facility, and built infrastructure management experience to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects for government and commercial clients. This role requires a seasoned professional who can leverage leadership experience, technical engineering expertise, and project management excellence to deliver high-impact solutions in challenging operational environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale federal construction projects, building client relationships, and leading cross-functional teams. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for understanding project requirements and managing progress towards achieving project requirements while balancing risks and cost-performance tradeoffs. You will work with a cross-functional team of government and contractor personnel to facilitate the development of high-performing teams leading to project success under accelerated timelines. While managing cost performance tradeoffs, project modifications and change orders, you will be responsible for all facets of project administration and reporting. Upon project completion, the Project Manager leads a lesson learned process to capture best practices and areas for improvement in future projects.
Position Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management
Lead complex, multi-million-dollar projects through all phases of project execution from initiation through completion.
Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies
Manage project portfolios with varying technical complexity and stakeholder requirements across the nation
Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Coordinate with government Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) and both government and Lindahl Reed program managers and team members.
Oversee subcontractor performance and vendor relationships
Client Relationship Management
Serve as primary client interface along with the program manager for assigned projects and accounts
Build and maintain relationships with government officials and industry executives
Lead client presentations, weekly and monthly status reporting, status briefings, and strategic planning sessions
Identify opportunities for contract modifications and change orders that lead to project success, and follow-on work
Manage client expectations and resolve complex project issues
Team Leadership & Development
Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, analysts, and technical specialists
Mentor junior project managers and technical staff
Foster collaborative team environment and high-performance culture
Conduct performance evaluations of task leads
Interface with senior leadership on resource allocation and strategic planning
Business Development Support
Support proposal development and capture activities
Provide technical and programmatic input for competitive bids
Participate in client meetings and capability presentations
Contribute to market intelligence and opportunity identification
Support pricing strategies and teaming arrangements
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Military or Civilian Government Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience supporting Federal projects
Senior-level leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibilities
Experience with Federal agencies with naval type operations, regulations, and organizational structure
Understanding of federal acquisition processes and government contracting
Engineering Background
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Marine, Mechanical, Architecture, or related field)
Professional Engineering (PE) license required
10+ years combined military and civilian experience managing construction projects, preparing engineering plans and specifications, design engineering work, asset and program management, or similar.
Experience with maritime infrastructure projects
Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and best practices
Project Management Expertise
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equal required
Demonstrated experience managing non-IT projects exceeding $5M in value
Experience with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies
Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheets)
Track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
