Senior SQL Engineer | $48/hr Remote

Senior SQL Engineer Work Snapshot • Job Type: Contract • Location: Remote • Compensation: Up to $48 per hour • Commitment: Flexible / project-based (hourly) Roles & Responsibilities • Review and evaluate AI-generated SQL queries, database designs, and data-processing logic for accuracy, performance, and reasoning quality • Identify issues related to query structure, indexing strategies, schema design, concurrency, locking, and database optimization • Write high-quality reference implementations, prompts, and step-by-step explanations demonstrating correct SQL engineering methodologies • Compare and rank AI-generated responses based on correctness, scalability, maintainability, and contextual relevance • Fact-check database-related claims and validate ETL/ELT workflows, relational modeling, and data warehousing concepts • Create AI training content focused on SQL development, query optimization, data modeling, cloud data platforms, and large-scale database workflows • Test AI systems for inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and reasoning gaps in SQL engineering and database problem-solving tasks • Support AI model improvement through structured technical evaluations, documentation, and detailed database engineering feedback Requirements • Education: Bachelor s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field • 7+ years of professional experience working with SQL in production environments as a Database Engineer, SQL Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role • Expert-level proficiency in SQL including complex joins, window functions, aggregation strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis • Strong experience with database performance tuning, indexing strategies, concurrency troubleshooting, relational data modeling, and data warehouse schema design • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, large-scale datasets, and modern cloud or on-premise data platforms • Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD practices, collaborative database workflows, and structured engineering review processes • Strong English communication skills (C1 or above) with the ability to write clear technical explanations and follow detailed engineering guidelines • Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluating AI-generated technical content preferred along with a highly detail-oriented and systematic review approach
