About the position
We are looking for a local SEO practitioner to take over a function that currently has no external vendor and is falling behind. The internal team is stretched. This person steps in and owns the full local search and reputation layer , from technical SEO fixes to Google Business Profile optimization to review management, with the urgency the situation requires.
Responsibilities
• Conduct a full SEO audit across all retail locations — schema markup, indexation, page speed, mobile performance, and GBP completeness
• Identify and quickly fix critical technical issues — schema markup, broken links, GBP inaccuracies, mobile indexation problems
• Optimize Google Business Profiles across all priority locations — categories, photos, services, hours, booking links, and listing consistency
• Align GBP profiles with Local Service Ad accounts to ensure local search signals support paid local ad performance
• Build location-specific service pages for priority markets to improve local search rankings
• Build Areas We Serve pages with structured FAQ content across priority markets
• Establish AEO foundations — structured data, FAQ formats, and citation signals for visibility in AI-driven search ( Gemini, ChatGPT, Google AI, etc.)
• Address mobile search performance — mobile accounts for the majority of organic search across these brands and is underperforming
• Assess the current state of review volume and recency across all locations and make recommendations
Requirements
• 5-8 years in local SEO and reputation management
• Experience optimizing Google Business Profiles across 50+ locations
• Familiarity with AI-driven search and AEO fundamentals
• Proficiency with tools such as WebPunch, BrightLocal, Local Falcon, or similar platforms
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple locations and workstreams simultaneously
• Able to identify and address critical issues in a timely manner
