An immediate opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary education within a self-contained classroom setting in Clinton Township, MI. This full-time contract assignment runs through June 11, 2026, and involves managing a caseload of up to 15 students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver individualized instruction and support to elementary students in a self-contained classroom.
• Manage challenging behaviors with effective strategies, ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Assist students with toileting and other personal care needs as part of daily routines.
• Collaborate closely with two paraprofessionals assigned to support classroom activities.
• Maintain compliance with special education laws and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education required; Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Special Education preferred.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an active Special Education endorsement is mandatory.
• Strict requirement: possession of a valid SPED license; substitute licenses are not accepted.
• Prior experience working with diverse student populations, particularly in managing behaviors and personal care, is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to support individualized education plans (IEPs).
