Organogenesis is a leading regenerative medicine company specializing in advanced and acute wound care. They are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their Finance Team, where the individual will be involved in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries as well as maintenance of support schedules
- Completion of account reconciliations including research on adequacy of account balances, including reconciliations of revenue, accrual accounts, and other general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, and analysis of fluctuations over prior periods and review
- Provide meaningful and accurate financial analysis on specific accounts on a monthly basis through preparation of variance reports
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies under U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Assist in the preparation and filing of public reports including 10-K and 10-Q and prepare detailed work papers to support financial statement disclosures and SEC filings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with SOX 404 internal control documentation and testing
- Collaborate with external audit staff for quarter-end reviews and year-end audit work
- Act as a key team member representing the Accounting department in the ERP implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Handle clerical and administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and organizing financial documents to maintain a well-organized finance function
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects assigned by the Director Assistant Controller
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred
- 1-3+ years of experience in general accounting
- Must have the ability to adhere to tight reporting deadlines
- Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Be detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Public accounting experience and CPA a plus
- Experience with Microsoft AX/Dynamics 365 is a plus
