SVP of Operations - Self Storage

Hirewell has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Senior Vice President of Operations - Self Storage This candidate will managing the operations of both owned and third party managed properties and teams. They will works closely with the C Suite and is responsible for setting the strategic and cultural direction of the Operations team, establishing workplace protocols and responsibilities and assembling a world-class management team. This position needs to be held in the Northeast and there will be limited travel in this position. Responsibilities • Work closely with the C Suite to set, evaluate and update the overall operational strategy • Work closely with direct reports in operations, learning & development, call center, revenue management and facilities to ensure all KPIs are met. • Work with supporting departments to ensure efforts are properly coordinated and there is consistent communication. • Drive performance by setting goals, expectations and accountability. • Oversee the growth of talent within the organization. • Realign processes as needed. • Approve development layouts and property branding. • Visit properties regularly to motivate and coach. • All of these are done daily, weekly and monthly • Build and maintain a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met • Travel as needed to ensure company expectations are being met • Travel as needed to build new relationships and grow the business • Supervise all daily operations of revenue management, field operations, learning & development, call center • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics • Cultivate and provide opportunities for rising talent within the organization • Implement performance management, operating planning and goal setting • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures • Perform employee reviews and developing corrective action plans if needed • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.) • Build annual operational budgets for all properties • Approve annual and emergency capital expenditure budgets for all locations • Review and approve all property layouts to ensure maximum profitability • Manage relationships with partners/vendors
