Job description: We're looking for a seasoned Traveling Construction Superintendent with a strong background in big box retail construction (think Walmart, Target, Costco, Home Depot, etc.). As our superintendent, you'll be the go-to leader onsite: managing trades, ensuring safety compliance, and overseeing all day-to-day field operations.Responsibilities of a Traveling Construction Superintendent are:Manage ground-up and remodel projects for large-scale retail clientsDirect all on-site construction activities and subcontractorsMaintain schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are metEnsure strict adherence to safety and quality standardsServe as liaison between office-based project team, owners, and subcontractorsConduct daily reports, progress tracking, and inspectionsTravel nationwide based on project locations (typically 3-6 month duration'sMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.Great Opportunity to be in a Leader position and mentor othersStrong Pipeline of ProjectsThe Ideal Traveling Construction Superintendent will have:Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience, specifically in big box retailProven success managing multi-million dollar commercial buildsStrong understanding of construction documents, specs, and schedulesOSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain quickly)Willingness and flexibility to travel extensivelyStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsTech-savvy with familiarity using Procore, MS Project, or similar softwarea nationally recognized general contractor with a sharp focus on big box retail construction.
