About the role
The Vocational Case Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the unemployed beneficiaries as it relates to Allsup Employment Services Return to Work program. The Case Manager is responsible for building a positive relationship with the unemployed beneficiary. The Case Manager provides customized job placement solutions to the unemployed beneficiaries using established career-counseling techniques and technical knowledge, based on the beneficiaries’ established skills, education and past work experience by thoroughly reviewing claim information and assisting beneficiaries to return to gainful employment, and financial self-sufficiency.
What you'll do
Manage an active vocational caseload working with individuals with a disability through the Ticket to Work Program
Provide job search assistance to beneficiaries including sending job leads, job boards, resume reviewing and/or writing, career exploration, job interviewing practice, discussing return to work barriers and resources
Manage a large volume of phone/emails/texts conversations with beneficiaries and build rapport and redirect conversation, as needed, and as appropriate
Provides on-going education to the beneficiary about the Social Security Administration Ticket-to-Work program, and encourages on-going participation including paystub submission at time of return to work
Verifying the beneficiary’s employment goal is appropriate and achievable
Support and coach the beneficiary while applying for jobs, and job retention
Assist beneficiaries in scheduling job interviews and schedule follow-up calls with beneficiaries to assess interview result
Complete Social Security forms as required
Conduct conference calls with beneficiaries and social security
Assist employed beneficiaries with workplace accommodations/disclosure or assistance finding new employment
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master’s and or Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate work experience
Two (2) or more years’ experience in case management, job placement, vocational rehabilitation preferred
Short-term disability or experience working with disabled individuals a plus
Employment specialist/job coach experience a plus
Ability to learn, retain and apply information
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and handle high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls
Customer service and collaboration skills
Bi-Lingual (Spanish) skills encouraged
