**Job Summary:**
As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing support and guidance on patient care and third-party reimbursement. You will be responsible for new order intake, ensuring accuracy with clinical, billing, and care-related information, and processing orders in a timely manner. Your excellent communication and problem-solving skills will enable you to build strong relationships with patients, referral sources, and employees, ensuring their satisfaction and needs are met.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees, addressing their questions, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Process new orders, ensuring accuracy with clinical, billing, and care-related information, and completing all necessary paperwork.
- Conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services/products, obtaining authorization and qualification documentation as required.
- Collect co-pays and deductible amounts, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payment.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines.
- Provide education to referral sources, patients, and employees on qualifications for service and third-party billing.
- Work extensively with eIntake proprietary system, accurately performing data entry and maintaining quality control throughout patient contact and data input.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including providing product/service information, technical assistance, and thorough review and Quality Assurance for medical necessity and documentation requirements of payors and regulatory bodies.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- One year of related work experience in medical billing practices and/or billing reimbursement, preferred.
- Experience in the medical field and administrative record management, preferred.
- Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position).
- Background investigation (company-wide).
- Drug screen (when applicable for the position).
**Skills and Competencies:**
- Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written.
- Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual).
- Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information.
