Manager, Strategic Communications and Engagement

The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Manager, Strategic Communications and Engagement to lead our strategic communications, engagement and marketing efforts. This role advances organizational priorities, strengthens brand consistency, and supports meaningful engagement with regulators, prospective physiotherapists (Canadian and internationally educated), and system partners. Reporting to the CEO, the Manager also oversees internal and external communications processes, projects, systems, and deliverables, and plays a key role in positioning CAPR as a trusted, credible, and accessible organization within Canada’s physiotherapy regulatory landscape.    About CAPR:  The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is a credentialing and assessment agency that provides evaluation services on behalf of the Canadian provincial and territorial physiotherapy regulators (called Colleges). We review the education and qualifications of applicants educated outside of Canada to determine whether their education is substantially different from those of Canadian-educated physiotherapists. For both Canadian and internationally educated physiotherapists, we administer the entry to practice licensure examination to determine a candidate's readiness for safe, effective, and independent physiotherapy practice.  For more information, please visit our website at www.alliancept.org  Key Responsibilities:  Strategic Communications   Leads the development and execution of communications, marketing, and engagement initiatives to support CAPR’s strategic and annual priorities  Develops and implements annual and multi‑year communications plans, in collaboration with internal teams and external subject matter experts.  Uses analytics, feedback, and best practices to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement  Collaborates with internal teams to provide strategic guidance and identify opportunities that improve reach and engagement with priority audiences  Supports internal communication, providing guidance on communication channels, content, and consistency in messaging to support the timely and accurate delivery of information  Identifies and mitigates emerging communications risks and opportunities  Sources media training and executes on training key representatives, including the CEO, the Board Chair and other leaders, as needed    Stakeholder Engagement    Supports consultation and engagement initiatives through communications plans, materials, presentations, surveys, and stakeholder resources  Maintains stakeholder profiles and data to ensure information is current, organized, and handled appropriately through optimal processes  Plans and coordinates awareness and information campaigns (e.g., key milestones, program updates, exam-related communications), including timelines, creative collaterals, approvals, and distribution    Content Development and Management  Develops, writes, edits, and proofreads communications materials, including newsletters, reports, website content, presentations, announcements, briefings, and stakeholder communications  Interprets complex or technical information, transforming it into clear, concise, and accessible language for diverse audiences  Provides direction for website design, content and digital communications platforms   Coordinates updates to website pages, online resources, graphics, forms, and multimedia content, ensuring clear user pathways and accessible information  Monitors website usability, accessibility, navigation, and content quality to enhance user experience and engagement  Performs other related duties as assigned    Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field  Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in strategic communications, engagement and brand identity  Proven success in leading the adoption of highly effective communications and engagement practices throughout the organization  Experience in a regulatory, healthcare, not-for-profit, or professional services environment and fluency in French are considered assets  The Compensation Package Includes:  Salary:  $95,000 - $120,000 depending on experience   Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental benefits + Health Care Spending Account   Insurance:  life, AD&D, and critical illness, short-term and long-term disability   Retirement: Employer RRSP matching   Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation     Understanding the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion, we value the uniqueness each person brings to their work, not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because diversity makes us and our workplace stronger.
