Small LLC, US-based. Bookkeeper does not need to be in LA — fully remote is fine — but should be comfortable with California state tax requirements (CA franchise tax, small-LLC rules). Need a bookkeeper to handle a 4-month catch-up plus take over monthly close going forward. Specific scope:
2025 catch-up & close: reconcile bank/credit-card accounts, categorize transactions, prepare books for CPA tax filing.
1099-NEC filing: one US contractor to file before July 31, 2026.
AR / invoicing reconstruction: 4+ months of unbilled hours need to be invoiced to a single major client, working from contractor hours logs I'll provide.
W-8BEN on file: one foreign contractor (Australia) — keep documentation, no IRS filing needed.
Monthly going forward: starting June 2026, target monthly close by the 15th, including AR review, invoicing prompts, P&L summary.
Collaboration: We have an Amazon WorkSpaces environment available if you prefer working inside our infrastructure for sensitive documents (bank statements, contracts).
Day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online or your tool of choice.
Tools open — QuickBooks Online preferred but flexible. US-based bookkeeper required. Comfortable with a one-time catch-up engagement that transitions to a flat monthly retainer (~$300–600/month range expected).
Looking to start within 1 week. Please share your typical catchup timeline, monthly retainer rate, and one example of a similar engagement.
